The Chef - Year 2 | Day 59 (1.7.12)
Daddy is a pretty darn good chef. Today he made me some yummy strawberry and apple sauce.
KC 365 - Year 1 | Day 365 (11.9.11)
For those of you who are friends with me on FB know, we started a 365 album for our daughter when she was born. That means we've been taking photos of her everyday and posting one (or more) on FB in an album we call "KC 365."
We thought for our final pic in Kherington's 365 photo series, it would be fun to show a before and after. We took the photo on the left (sans baby in arms) the day we left for the hospital, the last photo of our weekly preggers album :) Ha. We took it without knowing that we would revive it later. The photo on the right shows where we are exactly one year later. Exactly one year ago today, life was much different for us all.
Space Monkey - Year 1 | Day 355 (10.30.11)
Our Space Monkey is off to explore the universe for her first Halloween. We spent some time last night making the cap, ears, and tail. I think it turned out quite nice. Perfect for our little munchkin.
Squiggy - Year 1 | Day 285 (8.21.11)
The search for a Halloween costume is underway. We're considering making her Squiggy from "Laverne & Shirley." Who wants to be Lenny?
Cookie Monsters - Year 1 | Day 281 (8.17.11)
I picked Kherington up from school today and saw a plate of cookies set out. Her teacher told me that she helped make the cookies. Kherington's contribution? She helped crack an egg. :)
"Hi Dad" - Year 1 | Day 276 (8.14.11)
Kherington woke up from her afternoon nap today and surprised us when she looked at Tom and said in the sweetest, softest voice, "Hi Dad." Believe it.
Hooray for Mama & Auntie - Year 1 | Day 272 (8.8.11)
I may be a few days short of 9 months, but I know when it's time to celebrate. Today is mama and Auntie Alpha's birthday. I love you mama! I love you Auntie Alpha!
Restaurant Highchair - Year 1 | Day 263 (7.30.11)
We headed out for lunch today and we put Kherington in a restaurant highchair for the first time. Sure, my germaphobic tendencies were in high alert, but the experience was easier to handle with the use of the camouflage highchair cover that was handed down to us from Kherington's Manong Zion. Ha. Take that. The babe did great and I'm sure enjoyed sitting at the lunch table instead of sitting in her stroller. Hooray for another first!
Surprise Grandma!
A friend of mine told be about this book by a guy named Mansbach called, "Go the F*** to Sleep." Tom's got a great sense of humor and the topic of this book seemed fitting for the stage we're at with Kherington. :) So, I gave it to Thomas for Father's Day and he loved it.
During a recent visit from my parents, I thought I'd introduce the book to them as well. I handed my unsuspecting mom the book to read to my daughter and I was lucky enough to capture it.

Her sweet teefies broke through the other day and today they've overcome their shyness.
Tummy Is Tops - Year 1 | Day 220 (6.17.11)
So she's moved on from side sleeping to tummy. I'd have to concur with her decision tonight - sleeping on the tummy is much more comfortable. Although this is making me a little nervous.

Teefies Emerge - Year 1 | Day 219 (6.16.11)
For a few weeks now, Kherington's bottom gums have been showing signs of teeth emerging. Then, her first set of pearly whites decided to finally make their quiet entrance. They are a little hard to see in this photo, but believe us, we've done the finger-bite test and they're there.
Waking Madness - 6.13.11
We're not sure what's causing Kherington to fall out of her sleep-through-the-night pattern that she perfected very early on. She spoiled us and of course we wouldn't want it any other way. However, for the past week or so she has begun waking three times every morning before 7 am! It's nutty! This morning for example, her cry jostled us awake at 3, 4, and 6. We're exhausted.
I think she's going through another growth spurt or a tremendous developmental phase. She did go to sleep saying "dada, da, da, da" last night and spoke the same words when she awoke - at 6, that is. Ha. Whatever the case may be, she keeps us on our toes. She lets us enjoy a comfortable routine just long enough to miss it when it changes.
Side Sleeper - 6.10.11
Wouldn't you know it, we've got slide sleeping babe on our hands. :) We noticed her begin this habit in the past few days. Another interesting bit of news - Kherington is 7 months old today! Happy birthday sweet pea!
