"Hi Dad" - Year 1 | Day 276 (8.14.11)

Kherington woke up from her afternoon nap today and surprised us when she looked at Tom and said in the sweetest, softest voice, "Hi Dad." Believe it.

Hooray for Mama & Auntie - Year 1 | Day 272 (8.8.11)

I may be a few days short of 9 months, but I know when it's time to celebrate. Today is mama and Auntie Alpha's birthday. I love you mama! I love you Auntie Alpha!

Restaurant Highchair - Year 1 | Day 263 (7.30.11)

We headed out for lunch today and we put Kherington in a restaurant highchair for the first time. Sure, my germaphobic tendencies were in high alert, but the experience was easier to handle with the use of the camouflage highchair cover that was handed down to us from Kherington's Manong Zion. Ha. Take that. The babe did great and I'm sure enjoyed sitting at the lunch table instead of sitting in her stroller. Hooray for another first!

Tummy Is Tops - Year 1 | Day 220 (6.17.11)

So she's moved on from side sleeping to tummy. I'd have to concur with her decision tonight - sleeping on the tummy is much more comfortable. Although this is making me a little nervous.

Side sleeping is for babies. Check this out mama and papa.

Teefies Emerge - Year 1 | Day 219 (6.16.11)

For a few weeks now, Kherington's bottom gums have been showing signs of teeth emerging. Then, her first set of pearly whites decided to finally make their quiet entrance. They are a little hard to see in this photo, but believe us, we've done the finger-bite test and they're there.

Waking Madness - 6.13.11

We're not sure what's causing Kherington to fall out of her sleep-through-the-night pattern that she perfected very early on. She spoiled us and of course we wouldn't want it any other way. However, for the past week or so she has begun waking three times every morning before 7 am! It's nutty! This morning for example, her cry jostled us awake at 3, 4, and 6. We're exhausted.

I think she's going through another growth spurt or a tremendous developmental phase. She did go to sleep saying "dada, da, da, da" last night and spoke the same words when she awoke - at 6, that is. Ha. Whatever the case may be, she keeps us on our toes. She lets us enjoy a comfortable routine just long enough to miss it when it changes.

Daddy's First Birthday - 4.1.11

Happy birthday to daddy!

For those who know Tom, he prefers low-key, no fuss birthdays. He's happy with a slice of cake and bags of annual jellybeans. This birthday was different. He was actually very excited because Kherington was here to celebrate it with us. Happy birthday my love.

St. Patty's Day - 3.17.11

Daddy says you're never too young to celebrate your heritage. He asked if I was ready to begin. You betcha!

Daddy: "So lift your pint, uh I mean your 4 ounces for a toast and say, 'Sláinte agus táinte!'" I grabbed hold of my bottle with two hands so I wouldn't lose a drop...

...Then came the easy part. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Valentine's Gift For Mommy! - 2.14.11

A gift for me?! Why yes! It's not roses and chocolates for Valentine's this year. Nope. My hubs took it a notch up and installed a new kitchen faucet just for me. Exactly what I wanted - seriously. I love you!

Put Your Head On My Shoulder - 1.24.11

Just yesterday I was wondering aloud about when the time will come when KC is able to fall asleep with her head on my shoulder. Then, like magic today for the first time, my baby girl does just that.

Day 33 - Photo Shoot With Papa

The beautiful model takes a photo with papa, the photographer. She's resting peacefully before heading into hair and makeup with mama.

The shoot begins. She's a natural.

A little pep talk with mama before the next session.

Ouch. - 12.23.10

Hopefully our daughter will forget that the day before her first Christmas Eve mama and papa took her to the pediatrician where she got her first four immunization shots since leaving the hospital. Honestly, it pained mama to have to hold her and kiss her while the evil nurse hurt her. This was the first time mama witnessed her baby's "silent" cry. A few minutes later when it was all over, both mama and KC had tears in their eyes. Luckily, those tears have dried and all is well with the world again.

Merry Christmas baby girl.

Visiting Santa - 12.18.10

Kherington visited Santa for the first time and although she didn't get to tell Santa what she wanted, she did get a few cute photos out of it. :) Tom also shared his Christmas wish - to win the lottery.

She's curious about the beard.

When the crying begins you know it's time to end the visit. Thank you Santa!

Mommy's First -12.13.10

This is my first day out of the house with Kherington, but without Tom. Good luck to me.

I heart NY - 12.4.10

Thanks to mommy's co-workers in New York, I got this awesome onesie to sport. My mommy tells me that they are wonderful people. Since she's my milk supply and she's pretty good at meeting my demands, I tend to believe her. Thanks again NY family for the cool outfit.

You've Got Mail! - 12.2.10

KC received her first letter in the mail today. Congratulations Social Security for being the lucky sender!

Of course, I can't resist posting this picture of our Principessa at 23 days old.

An Angel Among Us

For a long time there were only your footsteps and laughter
in our dreams and even from such small things,
we knew we could not wait to love you forever.

Baby @ Week 39/40 - 11.9.10

We've packed our bags and we're ready to go. It's a last minute sprint to the finish with a whole lot of surprises in the mix and yes, I've been crying. Per our doc's suggestion we're going in for an induction. I was hoping to start this process tomorrow so that baby can arrive on her due date - 11.11. However, not much ever goes as planned, so why start now? I'm nervous, stressed and excited. It's been a long haul and we're almost to the finish line - well, this part of the journey anyway. :) We'll see you once this precious babe is in our arms.

Baby @ Week 38

Fear the beard, not the baby. What happened during week 38? The SF Giants finally won a World Series title. Can you spot a few of the key players from this winning team?

Wilson, Lincecum, and Posey make a stop to the Collins' home.
